Safe Flight AutoPower Automatic Throttle System (ATS) for the Hawker 800 series aircraft is currently being installed for developmental flight-testing at West Star Aviation’s Grand Junction, Colorado facility. Flight testing is scheduled to be completed by the end of May, with certification slated for July of this year.
Safe Flight’s ATS will be certified under an FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) by West Star Aviation and will be available for installation on in-service Pro Line 21 equipped Hawker 750, 800, 850 and 900 XP models.
The Hawker 800 series full regime AutoPower System will provide continuous thrust management during takeoff, climb, cruise, descent, approach, landing and go-around, according to company officials. AutoPower components include a dedicated computer, two mode status display monitors, a servomotor clutch pack and a modified throttle quadrant that contain the engage and disengage switches.
