Chuck those old chocks

By Janice Wood · June 1, 2011 ·

Now available are Sporty’s Cast Aluminum Chocks.

Their sturdiness make them perfect for flying clubs, flight departments or FBOs with heavy use, but individual owners will love them too, Sporty’s officials said. Their universal design will fit almost any airplane, including those with low profile wheel pants like the Cirrus and Corvalis.

Constructed from an indestructible ALMAP 535 aluminum/magnesium alloy, the chocks feature a 10-year corrosion-resistance warranty. The Cast Aluminum Chocks have a concave tire surface and a hollowed bottom connected by a 21-inch nylon connecting rope.

Measuring 5 3/8” wide by 2” high, one pair of chocks is required for each wheel. The Cast Aluminum Chocks are available in a natural finish (7124A) for $23.95 and with a safety yellow powder-coated finish (7507A) for $29.95. Sporty’s can add custom lettering or N-number for $7.95.
