The Malibu Mirage Owners & Pilots Association (MMOPA) has slated its 21st annual Fly-In Convention Sept. 14-18 at The Homestead, an historic resort dating back to 1766, in Hot Springs, Virginia (KHSP). The convention is open to all – MMOPA members and non-members alike.
The MMOPA Convention has a long legacy of providing operators of Piper Malibu, Mirage, Matrix, Meridian, and JetProp PT6 conversions with academic programs presented by industry experts on safety, operations, and maintenance. Attendees also gain from the experience of other PA46 owners and trainers, which makes this gathering attractive to prospective Malibu owners looking for objective information about the ownership experience prior to making a purchase decision, association officials said.
The MMOPA Convention’s vendor exhibits offer attendees the chance to see all the latest innovations in new aircraft, avionics, accessories, STC modifications, training and group travel. This year’s convention will feature Piper factory participation, including the opportunity to see details about the new PiperJet Altaire and get the factory perspective on operations and maintenance.
This year’s venue at The Homestead offers spouses and guests an incredible variety of other activities – two nationally ranked golf courses, horseback riding, falconry, hot springs mineral spa, outdoor and heated indoor pools, tennis; skeet, trap and sporting clays shooting; rafting, carriage rides, fly-fishing school, archery, ATVs, hiking, 8-lane bowling alley, 270-seat movie theater, mountain biking, paintball, kayaking, canoeing, climbing wall, etc. with hotel transportation provided. There is also afternoon tea and plenty of shopping in and around the resort. No need for rental cars.
The MMOPA Convention is open to all PA46 enthusiasts for a cost of $595 per person, which includes all academic sessions, receptions, and meals for three days. Attendees will also enjoy special discounted rates at The Homestead Resort and are encouraged to come early and stay late.
The Malibu Mirage Owners & Pilots Association (MMOPA) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the interests and safety of PA46 owners and pilots. MMOPA was founded in 1990, and continues to grow with over 800 members. Membership is available to PA46 owners, operators, vendors, and enthusiasts. MMOPA is an independent association and not affiliated with Piper Aircraft, Inc. or any other manufacturer or vendor.
