Mark Robidoux, founder and creator of PilotWorkshops.com, will be the guest speaker at the Norwood Chapter of IMC Club International on Tuesday June 14.
Robidoux is known nationally for his IFR online program for instrument pilots, the IFR Mastery Series. This program is based on feedback collected from more than 13,000 instrument pilots. The IFR Mastery Series is a continuing series of monthly workshops designed to improve technique, knowledge and overall safety, according to company officials.
Each month, IFR instructors analyze a common situation that challenges IFR pilots and often leads to trouble. They analyze these situations from every angle and give you a turn in the left seat.
Robidoux will discuss the challenges and the risks of flying in instrument conditions. He will review his approach to instrument training, present one of his workshops and answer any questions regarding his online program.
Robidoux is an instrument-rated pilot and has been flying since 1996. Before starting PilotWorkshops.com, he spent 18 years in high-tech, working for two of the world’s leading software companies. He held a variety of sales, marketing and executive management positions during his career. While studying for his instrument rating, he noticed there was little training available for pilots on the internet. Much of his career was spent building, selling and implementing web-based programs. He was convinced there was an opportunity to combine his passion for aviation with his knowledge and experience in web technologies. In the fall of 2005, Robidoux left his high-tech career to create his pilot training website.
The IMC Club is a non-profit organization focused on instrument rated pilots and flight instructors, with a network of chapters throughout the nation. Their intent is to create a community of pilots in order to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety and build proficiency in instrument flying.
