ACONE to converge on Katama Airpark

By Janice Wood · June 13, 2011 ·

The Aero Club of New England (ACONE) will hold an informal gathering at Katama Airfield (1B2) in Edgartown, Martha’s Vineyard, Saturday, July 23.

According to club officials, it’ll be a day of good old-fashioned fun, camaraderie, and food at this picturesque, ocean front location and all are invited. Katama Airpark, established in 1924, is the oldest, continuously operating grass airport in the country.

Typically, folks arrive after 10 a.m. and stay until late afternoon. Some ACONE members are planning to have dinner on Saturday night as part of this get together and stay overnight. There are many lodging establishments on the island and a visit to mvol.com contains some links to accommodations. Other links of interest include: EdgartownCommons.com
