Lax enforcement of rules at Glendale Municipal Airport (GEU) in Arizona could cost the city a significant chunk of money, according to a story in the Tucson Citizen. The problems include a jury award of $1.8 million to Valley Aviation Services, a company that rents out hangars at the airport, after the jury found that the city discriminated against the company, as well as an FAA finding that the city “potentially endangered safety at the airport by allowing some hangar owners to store non-aviation items, including an armored SWAT truck. The FAA ordered the city to come up with a plan to correct its problems within 30 days or risk losing millions in funding,” the story said.
