‘The Aviators’ selects OSH as official home airport

By Janice Wood · June 20, 2011 ·

“The Aviators,” the television show about all things aviation, has selected Wittman Regional Airport (OSH) in Oshkosh, Wis., as the show’s new official home airport. “The Aviators” airs on PBS stations across the United States and on other networks around the world.

The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and the organization’s annual AirVenture, as well as Basler Turbo Conversions, Fox Valley Technical College, Oshkosh Corporation and Sonex, already call Oshkosh and its airport home. For the week of EAA AirVenture, Wittman Regional Airport’s control tower becomes the world’s busiest airport. “Hundreds of thousands of aviation enthusiasts flock to Oshkosh every year, which makes Wittman Regional Airport a natural home for ‘The Aviators,’” said the show’s Executive Producer Anthony Nalli.

“Oshkosh plays home to many great aviation organizations; however, we are very excited to become the official home airport of ‘The Aviators,” said Peter Moll, Wittman Regional Airport Director.

Since its premiere in September 2010, season one of The Aviators has aired more than 10,000 times across North America to an audience of millions. The show also airs on Discovery in several Australasian markets and is moving into Europe and South America. The second season is scheduled to premiere this September.
