DBQ gains popularity as cross-country fuel stop

By Janice Wood · June 26, 2011 ·

Dubuque Jet Center at Iowa’s Dubuque Regional Airport (DBQ) has become a favorite fuel stop for cross-country flyers.

FBO Supervisor Gordy Vetsch isn’t surprised at Dubuque’s growing popularity among pilots and flight departments. “First of all, we offer a great centralized location, convenient for travelers flying coast-to-coast,” said Vetsch. “We have two runways, each about 6,300 feet long and equipped with excellent navigational aids. We also have significantly less congested airspace, easy in-and-outs and the fastest quick turn in the Midwest.”

Dubuque Jet Center Dubuque Jet Center provides a variety of services, including fuel, hangar availability, and deicing. An Avfuel-branded dealer, Dubuque Jet Center offers Avfuel Contract Fuel and AVTRIP reward points.

Complimentary beverages, crew cars, a pilot’s lounge, and a conference room for business needs are available for customers. The staff can assist with catering arrangements, ground transportation, and more. “Hospitality is our hallmark,” Vetsch said. “We give 110%. No matter what the request is, we find a way to fill it. We go out of our way to be great.”
