Jeppesen teams with Garmin

By Janice Wood · June 26, 2011 ·

Jeppesen and Garmin have teamed to provide Jeppesen’s NavData navigation information and charting services for the recently introduced Garmin GTN avionics systems. The new Garmin GTN avionics series supported by Jeppesen data is designed for the glass cockpit general aviation market.

The new agreement supports four data bundle options and provides a single aircraft pricing structure. Garmin cockpit avionics configurations supported by the agreement include the GTN Series, G600, G500 and/or G500H. Each bundle option includes Garmin’s SafeTaxi, Obstacle, Terrain and, available soon, AOPA Airport Directory services.

Jeppesen and Garmin customers are now able to choose between bundle options that include Jeppesen NavData, Jeppesen eCharts (JeppView for Multi-Function Display) and/or Garmin FliteCharts. The bundle solution agreement also allows Jeppesen and Garmin data service customers to simplify the research, purchase, database update and customer support process, now provided through a single source of contact for the customer.

The bundled, single aircraft pricing structure data solution now available from Jeppesen and Garmin provides customers with a pricing discount, when compared to purchasing data solutions individually, according to company officials. Full U.S. coverage for the JeppView MFD bundle solution provides an approximate 71% savings over individual data solution pricing, officials add.
