Major Overhaul Kits for Lamar Starters now available

By Janice Wood · June 28, 2011 ·

Lamar Technologies of Marysville, Wash., has developed new major overhaul kits for its line of lightweight Lycoming and Continental starters.

After consulting with industry operators, owners and flight schools, it was recognized that downtime is critical in this economy and there is a need to minimize downtime and costs when repairing or replacing starters, according to company officials.

LamarKits The new Lamar Technologies overhaul kits include all parts necessary for a normal major overhaul, as well as any special tools, lubricants, and thread compounds. In addition, a complete digital Overhaul and Parts manual is included.

The model specific kits cover all starters manufactured by Lamar Technologies in eight different kits. The overhaul manual has been rewritten to highlight tear down and assembly with detailed drawings and instructions. The manual covers all aspects of the rebuild in easily understood steps with tech support just a call or email away, company officials note. Average time to do a complete overhaul can be accomplished in less than an hour, officials add.
