Landmark Aviation has named Eric Lugger its new director of safety.
As a U.S. Army helicopter pilot, Lugger served on a combat tour in the Middle East during Operation Desert Storm. Since retiring from the military, he has worked as a line pilot, a general manager of an aircraft structural repair facility, and as a corporate safety manager for a large air ambulance operator with over 300 aircraft.
He has had a 19-year career in aviation accident investigation and insurance claims management, conducting safety audits of business models including FBO operations. He was the principal industry representative for the development of the HEMS Tool graphical aviation weather product with the FAA and has authored several safety policies, periodicals and training manuals.
Lugger will be based in Houston at the company’s corporate office.
Landmark Aviation operates a network of FBOs located throughout the U.S., and in Canada and Western Europe.
