Career Fair slated for SLN

By Janice Wood · July 13, 2011 ·

AAR Aircraft Services, a provider of aircraft maintenance and modifications services, in partnership with the SLN Aviation Service Center and KANSASWORKS, will hold an Aviation Career and Networking Fair in Salina, Kan., as the company considers expanding its operations into Kansas.

The fair will be held at the Salina Airport Hangar 600, 2720 Arnold Ct., from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., July 18 and 19.

“AAR Aircraft Services is part of a growing global organization looking to expand its operations, and (Salina), Kansas is one location it is considering,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “I encourage anyone with an interest in aviation and wanting to explore a career in the field to plan on attending this event.”

The company is looking for workers in several areas including avionics, interiors, NDT inspectors, Q.C. inspectors, aircraft mechanics and sheet metal mechanics.

No appointments are necessary. Attendees should bring a resume and dress for success. AAR’s current, open positions can be viewed at AARCorp.com. Those unable to attend may send a resume to info@la1lwib.org.

Those who need assistance updating resumes or other career services can visit one of the KANSASWORKS workforce centers. Locations can be found by going to KANSASWORKS.com. In addition, the KANSASWORKS Salina Workforce Center will have staff available July 13 to 15 to help individuals specifically prepare for this event. The Salina Center is located at 203 N. 10th Street, Salina, Kan. 67041. Contact telephone number is 785-827-0385.
