Matchbox expands product line

By Janice Wood · July 25, 2011 ·

MatchBox Aeronautical Systems has introduced at Oshkosh a new addition to its product line, the DVM 828, a self-contained digital voltage monitor that keeps a close eye on the overall health of the aircraft’s battery and charging system.

Installation is made simple by using the aircraft’s existing cigarette lighter connector found in most airplanes, according to company officials.

By way of voltage regulators, the DVM 828 receives its power from the aircraft, so no additional batteries are need. Operating the on-board microcontroller and drivers with voltage levels at or below 5 volts allows the unit to measure the battery and charging system with accuracy to the nearest tenth of a volt, according to company officials. The DM 828 automatically shifts between 12 volt and 24 volts systems.

This new addition to the MatchBox product line up is on display at this year’s AirVenture at PilotMall.com and Aircraft Spruce.
