#OSH11: Kiwis can fly

By Janice Wood · July 27, 2011 ·

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), the country’s economic and trade development arm, is hosting a group of aircraft and equipment manufacturers, software developers, and other aviation companies at this year’s AirVenture.

“Aviation is a $10 billion industry for New Zealand and is expected to reach almost $15 billion in the next few years,” noted Peter Smyth, an NTZE executive. “The New Zealand companies attending Oshkosh embody an impressive cross-section of the innovations, creativity and technical skills that have made and will continue to make New Zealand a dynamic player in international aviation.”

New Zealand businesses supply fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, components, software for tracking aircraft, security products, air traffic control systems and a range of other products to companies and customers across the globe, according to officials.

The companies that will be attending Oshkosh on behalf of NZTE include: AirAdventures Ltd; Airmaster Propellers; Campbell Aero Classics; Composite Helicopter Manufacturing Ltd; Duke Engines; Falcomposite; Flyinn Tours; Kiwiprops; Martin Jetpack; Phitek; Shearwater; Shockwave; Sky Challenge Air Race; Spidertracks; and NZ Warbirds.
