Winner Aviation named 208 conversion center

By Janice Wood · August 7, 2011 ·

Winner Aviation in Vienna, Ohio, has signed an agreement with Aero Twin of Anchorage to become the world’s first authorized conversion center for Aero Twin’s modification STC that converts Cessna 208 aircraft to Honeywell powered TPE-331 engines at either 850 or 950 shaft horsepower.

Known as the 850 Caravan, or 950 Grand Caravan, the firewall forward modification matches a TPE331-12JR Honeywell engine and a Hartzell 109.5” four bladed propeller to either of the Caravan airframes. To date there are five Caravans in operation with Aero Twin’s STC.

Since 2010 Winner has been a Cessna Caravan factory authorized service center. It also is an independent TPE331 factory authorized service center and maintains FAA and Honeywell approval for TPE331 overhaul capability.

Winner Aviation operates a full service FBO at Youngstown Warren Regional Airport. The facility is made up of jet, turbine, and piston service centers, along with an avionics repair and installation shop, an engine repair shop and overhaul shop, and a full service parts department. Winner has Factory Authorized Service Center status with Twin Commander Aircraft, Mitsubishi MU-2, Cessna Multi-Engine, Hawker Beechcraft Piston, Cessna Caravan and Diamond Aircraft.
