StandardAero plans improvements to Augusta facility

By Janice Wood · August 16, 2011 ·

StandardAero Business Aviation has signed a new 10-year lease on its Augusta, Ga., facility. The lease ensures StandardAero’s continued occupancy and includes an additional 10-year option, company officials said.

StandardAero, formerly known as Garrett Aviation Services, has been the facility’s tenant since 1974.

StandardAero Augusta also is installing new hangar ventilation systems and is painting the Augusta buildings, company officials noted.

For more than 35 years, the Augusta operation has served the corporate aviation community. StandardAero Augusta employs more than 100 A&Ps, each averaging 15-plus years of employment. The Augusta facility performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and serves as an authorized service center for Bombardier Challenger 600 series, Dassault Falcon (all models), Embraer Legacy 600/650 series, Honeywell TFE-731 (heavy), TPE 331 (overhaul) and HTF7000 (minor) engines as well as Honeywell 36-100/150 series APUs (overhaul). The facility also performs major maintenance and inspections on all of the Learjet, Hawker Astra and Westwind series of aircraft. In addition, the Augusta facility hosts a full range of avionics repair and installation capabilities.
