Dear President Obama, Why are you killing the only industry that still shines?

By Janice Wood · August 18, 2011 ·

In an letter to President Obama posted on his blog at GlobalAir.com, Jeremy Cox of Jetbrokers Inc., asks the Commander in Chief this question. He opens with: “I wanted to take a moment to ask you ‘man to man’ why you have decided to single out the General Aviation Industry for your public vilification and attacks, when you yourself are such a heavy user of the services provided by this vital industry?” It’s something well worth reading.

  1. Mark Jones Jr. says

Recently, I’ve been re-reading “How to Win Friends and Influence People”, Dale Carnegie’s epic work.

I think “we” need to reread it and apply it to this situation in two ways:
    1. I spent some time reading through the comments on the J Cox blog, and “we” can’t even get along with each other. We look like childish brats there in the comments.

    2. I don’t think that a logical argument that points the finger at the President is going to do anything other than make him defensive. Dale Carnegie agrees for several hundred pages.

“We” need a cause that inspires us, that fills us with a sense of prideful purpose. Facts don’t inspire anyone. We need stories. And we all need to be reminded of the principles in Dale’s book.
