Vaughn College in Flushing, N.Y., has appointed Ken Kaplan to head its newly created Aviation Outreach Initiative.
A pilot since age 16, Kaplan has been a publisher and trade show producer, chief executive of three businesses and most recently an executive with King Schools, a leader in aviation distance learning. In his new position, he is responsible for developing international collaborative and teaming relationships; exploring hybrid distance-learning opportunities; and developing other aviation and technology opportunities that will result in increased brand recognition for Vaughn College.
Senior Vice President Dr. Sharon DeVivo said: “Ken’s extensive background in the aviation industry, instrument-rated piloting experience and successful track record as a chief executive uniquely qualifies him for this new role that is central to Vaughn’s growth plans.”
Kaplan, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, said that a primary goal will be to continue Vaughn’s tradition of graduating students who make a positive impact in the global aviation, technology and related industries.
