American Flyers has named Jay Elder Executive Vice President and National Sales Director.
Elder began his aviation career with American Flyers in 1980, gaining his Commercial License and Instructor Certificates. After instructing over the next two years, his duties expanded to that of Operations Manager and later, Director of the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, flight school.
In 1998 Elder joined FlightSafety Academy, where he served seven years as Director of Marketing–Airline Training. In 2010, Elder returned to the American Flyers family as the School Director in Santa Monica, Calif. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Mary.
American Flyers has provided flight training for personal and professional pilots since 1939 and operates nine schools in the United States, as well as one in Mexico City, Mexico.
