Independence Aviation opens COS location

By Janice Wood · September 8, 2011 ·

Denver-based Independence Aviation (IA) has opened a second, full-service operation in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in the Colorado jetCenter at the Colorado Springs Municipal Airport (COS).

The full slate of client services available at IA’s headquarters location in Denver’s Centennial Airport (APA) will be offered in Colorado Springs, company officials said. Services range from flight training and pilot services to aircraft management. Both locations carry the Cirrus Platinum Training Center designation, which Cirrus Aircraft has awarded to only nine flight operations worldwide.

“As the state’s second-largest city, Colorado Springs allows us to reach many more Colorado aviation enthusiasts with our unique total-immersion, team-teaching approach to flight training, as well as a full range of pilot services,” said IA President Bob Stedman.

IA’s entire instructor corps, embodying a wide range of aviation experience and expertise, is available for flight instruction at the new COS location. The same is true of the IA’s aircraft fleet that includes models from Piper, Diamond, Beechcraft and Cessna, in addition to its Cirrus aircraft.
