Coradine Aviation joins Aspen’s Connected Panel partner program

By Janice Wood · September 13, 2011 ·

Coming this fall, LogTen Pro for iPad will be integrated with Aspen Avionics’ Connected Pilot, enabling pilots to download flight time data direct from an aircraft’s panel.

Coradine Aviation Systems will be one of the first aviation software companies to integrate with Aspen Avionics’ recently announced Connected Pilot, the initial product of its Connected Panel line of products.

Connected Panel includes hardware, software, and application components that provide two-way wireless communications between panel avionics and personal smart devices to streamline flight-related activities. Connected Pilot is the first Connected Panel hardware and software system, and will list for under $2,500, according to company officials. It will be available for installation via Aspen’s authorized dealer network by the end of 2011 when Aspen’s Connected Pilot app, designed for the iPad, will be available via the iTunes store.

In conjunction with the launch, Coradine, developer of logbook software for the iPad, Mac and iPhone, will release an update to LogTen Pro for iPad that will work seamlessly with Connected Pilot, company officials said.

Noah Lieberman, CEO for Coradine, said, “Ever since launching LogTen Pro for iPad we’ve been hoping for this kind of development in the cockpit. This integration between LogTen Pro for iPad and Connected Pilot will mean pilots can complete log entries at the touch of a button, before they set foot on the tarmac. It’s another exciting step toward making the iPad the EFB of choice for pilots.”
