Wicks to host Stewart Systems workshop

By Janice Wood · September 22, 2011 ·

Wicks Aircraft Supply will host a three-day workshop with Stewart Systems at SRT Aviation at Illinois’ Mt. Vernon Airport (MVN), Oct. 27–29.

Class size will be restricted to 20 people. The classes will run from 8 am to 5 pm. The event will focus on fabric covering and taping, rib stitching, and painting techniques, according to company officials.

Stewart Systems covered planeStewart Systems has gained a solid reputation for offering a two-part coating that adheres to metal, wood, composites, fabric and plastic surfaces, Wicks officials noted. The paint, which is free of volatile organic compounds, is flexible, corrosion resistant, and can be covered with a clear coat that protects the polyurethane while giving it a unique wet look, they added.

The cost for the program is $300. Current EAA members will receive a $50 discount. Coffee, donuts and lunch will be provided by Wicks Aircraft. Reservations for the class can be made through WicksAircraft.com, by calling Scott Wick at 800-221-9425, or contact Rich Carney at SRT Aviation at 618-216-0141.
