It’s time for Sporty’s annual Christmas Ornament, and the 2011 edition features the Beech Staggerwing.
This custom-etched, limited edition crystal Ornament includes a bright red ribbon for hanging and is boxed for gift giving.
First flown in 1932, the Beech Staggerwing is a biplane that gets its name from the fact that the lower wing is farther forward than the upper wing. Much like top corporate jets today, the Staggerwing represented the ultimate in personal, executive travel in the 1930s. In all, close to 800 Beech Model 17 Staggerwings were manufactured in eight different series during 16 years of production with many of them still flying today.
“Sporty’s Crystal Christmas Ornaments have become an annual tradition for pilots, flight schools, FBOs and aviation enthusiasts,” says Sporty’s Vice President John Zimmerman. “The classic airplanes are well-loved by pilots so we know the Staggerwing will be a popular ornament.”
Sporty’s Crystal Christmas Ornament for 2011 [9833A] is available for $24.95 and may be ordered at Sportys.com or by calling 800-SPORTYS.
