New administrator for Salem Airport

The City of Salem’s Urban Development Department has named John Paskell as the new administrator of Salem Municipal Airport (SLE) in Oregon.

Salem’s 751-acre airport serves general aviation aircraft and the Oregon Army National Guard – Army Aviation Support Facility. As the Airport Administrator, Paskell is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the development and growth of the City of Salem Airport, including meeting proper regulations and codes, preparing and managing the annual budget, providing administrative work, and managing the department. Paskell will also develop, direct, and coordinate the day-to-day operations and long-term needs of the airport according to federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring efficient, cost effective and safe airport operation. Paskell manages supervisory, administrative, and maintenance staff.

Paskell’s background includes more than 14 years of airport operation, properties management, administration, and economic development experience. Over the last 14 years, he has held positions as the Airport Manager at Henderson Field Airport in Midway, Senior Manager of Terminal Aviation Properties at Portland International Airport, and Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer at Mohave County Airport Authority in Arizona.
