New program to reduce waste on tradeshow floor at NBAA

By Janice Wood · October 9, 2011 ·

SmartBag Digital Tradeshow Bag will debut at the National Business Aviation Association’s Annual Convention, which kicks off Monday, Oct. 10, in Las Vegas. The program was developed to simplify the process of sharing information and reduce the massive amount of printed materials that are wasted on the tradeshow floor using Quick Response Codes (QR codes).

By utilizing QR code technology, SmartBag allows show attendees to use their iPhones to scan an exhibitor’s code and access all of the information they came to NBAA to receive. Now attendees can select the items they are interested in and manage those documents from their iPhones or web-enabled computers. Using SmartBag attendees can review, print, or email any of the literature an exhibitor has available. They can even request a hard copy of the literature to be mailed to them, all without leaving the tradeshow floor, according to company officials.

NBAA attendees can download the FREE app, scan the QR codes located at NBAA booths, choose the materials they are interested in, and move on to the next exhibitor. With SmartBag, attendees can take advantage of the following benefits the program has to offer:

  • No need to carry large amounts of literature around the show
  • Review the information when you’re ready
  • Organizational Tools for show floor included in app
  • Efficiency increased – Ability to send/receive materials directly from show floor.
  • Access to exhibitor materials for 30 days after the show without shipping it home
  • Accessible from virtually any web enabled device
  • Eco-conscious choice

The free app is available at DigitalSmartbag.com

The program is now available for the iPhone, with Android and BlackBerry versions coming soon. The program is being introduced and tested by a select few exhibitors at NBAA. Attendees can find the scannable QR code and take part in the new program by visiting participating exhibitors by looking for SmartBag- Digital Tradeshow Bag counter cards at NBAA.
