Customizable headset introduced

By Janice Wood · October 17, 2011 ·

The HS 800 Digital headset from beyerdynamic can now be ordered as a customized version. The online configurator, similar to those of car industries, allows customers to select from a wide range of materials and colors for different components, including an individually laser engraved text.

At the 2011 shows, beyerdynamic presented this headset with a fully-adaptive digital noise reduction system. The adaptation to different noise levels is a continuous and automatic process — no need to press a button, company officials said.

Comfort was also a priority, officials note. All pads are soft and covered with fine genuine leather. The replaceable headband pad has a special shape to keep away pressure from the sensitive fontanelle at the top of the head.

Customers can now go online and let their creativity run free, company officials said. The ear cups can be selected in a design of high gloss black piano lacquer, basalt grey metallic or burl wood. The leather of the headband pad is either black or brown. Metal parts such as decorative rings or the yoke can be anodised in different colors. For an extra charge a personal laser engraved text is also available on the yoke. After placing your order in the beyerdynamic shop, your customized headset will be manufactured by hand, company officials said.
