Richmond, Virginia-based Tecnam North America has launched a discounted deposit program for the Tecnam P2010, a four-seat single expected to have its first test flight early next month.
“In celebration of this we are offering a one-off opportunity to place an order for one of these…aircraft for a deposit of just $5,000,” company officials said, adding deposit holders also will save $15,000 on the final list price for deliveries in North America.
With a carbon fiber fuselage and all metal wings, the aircraft builds on the success of the Tecnam P2008 Light-Sport Aircraft, according to company officials. The 2011 base price, excluding delivery, is approximately $244,000. The P2010 can use either avgas or mogas.
Equipment options range from traditional panel IFR to a dual panel Garmin G1000 Suite.
An order must be placed on, or before, Jan. 10 along with full payment of the $5,000 deposit to qualify. The deposit would be returnable in the event of the aircraft not being certified by the end of 2014 and the order may also be transferred to somebody else at any time for a nominal fee, company officials said.
Firm production slots from serial number 027 are being offered and will be allocated in the order in which deposits are received. Additional payments will be required when certain milestones have been met, officials note.
The final price paid will be determined by the list price in force at the date of delivery along with the equipment options chosen and then discounted by $15,000.
