Lawmaker launches ‘America Flies’ to boost general aviation

Hoping to battle what he says has been damaging rhetoric against general aviation from President Barack Obama, U.S. Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kansas) has launched the America Flies campaign, which features a website where aviation advocates can sign a petition promoting the industry and share their stories of how general aviation has benefited them. According to the Wichita Business Journal, Pompeo hopes the message of the industry’s benefits will be passed along to decision makers and legislators.
