Armstrong appointed director at NY society

By Ben Sclair · January 18, 2012 ·

Bayport, NY – The Bayport Aerodrome Society (which operates the Bayport Aerodrome Museum) has appointed William T. Armstrong as Membership Director on the Societies Board of Directors. The Bayport Aerodrome Society (BAS) is dedicated to the preservation and heritage of Long Island aviation. Bill Armstrong is a native of Long Island with ties to the field since 1985 and a love of aviation from childhood.  Bill graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and an honorable discharge as Lieutenant in the United States Naval Reserve after 8 years of service.  Bill and his wife Meghan own and pilot a vintage Cessna 170B based at the field (23N).  The BAS has meticulously cared for the 1928 airfield since 1978. It is a “Living Aviation Museum” housing over 40 pristine airworthy antique and classic aircraft.  Open to the public every Saturday and Sunday from April to October with no admission charge.
