Sporty’s sets date for annual fly-in

By Janice Wood · February 21, 2012 ·

Sporty’s annual Fly-In will be held Saturday, May 19, at the Clermont County/Sporty’s Airport. At this year’s Fly-In, the winner of Sporty’s 2012 Skycatcher Sweepstakes will be unveiled.

“We’re going to have fun all day long,” says Sporty’s President Michael Wolf. “Our guests can talk with aviation company representatives in our exhibit hall, eat free hot dogs, attend seminars, shop our retail store and, of course, stand by to see if they are this year’s Sweepstakes winner of a brand-new Garmin-equipped Cessna Skycatcher.”

The Sporty’s Fly-In provides an opportunity for aviation enthusiasts to spend a day immersed in aviation. Exhibitors include Cessna Aircraft, Aspen Avionics, Garmin, Bose, Lightspeed, SkyOx, ForeFlight, Sigtronics and others. Representatives will be on hand to demonstrate their products and answer questions. There will also be a static display featuring new Cessna Aircraft.

FAA safety seminars will be hosted by Garmin, Bendix/King, Aspen Avionics, Foreflight, Air Mod and more.

“The Fly-In is always just a fun day for us to throw open the gates of the airport and welcome folks in,” added Wolf. “We promise you a great time whether you’re an old hand at flying or just exploring the process of learning to fly.”

Sporty’s representatives will be on hand to talk with attendees about various products and services offered by Sporty’s including introductory flights and flight training at Sporty’s Academy, the 2012 line of Cessna single-engine aircraft, homes available at Sandy’s Airpark at Sporty’s, Aviation Exploring, Cincinnati Avionics and the University of Cincinnati Professional Pilot Program.

The event will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information on Sporty’s Fly-In or directions to Sporty’s (via airplane or car), visit Sportys.com/flyin.
