VoiceFlight Systems has released a free “Connected Talker” iPad App that allows pilots to transfer flight plans from their iPads into VoiceFlight-enabled Garmin 430W or 530W GPS units.
J. Scott Merritt, president and founder of VoiceFlight, said: “The Connected Talker App can transfer an entire flight plan in seconds by generating synthetic speech that exploits the exceptional speed and accuracy of the VFS101 speech recognition system.”
The Connected Talker App is available now and can be downloaded from the Apple Store at no charge. A custom audio cable (available from VoiceFlight for $25) transfers the synthetic speech to the pilot microphone jack where it is recognized by the VFS101 system. VoiceFlight’s crossfill interface is used to transfer the flight plan to the GPS unit, company officials said.
