The American Bonanza Society (ABS) and the ABS Air Safety Foundation have launched BPPP Online+Flight. This new program presents the type-specific, pilot-centered classroom instruction of the Beechcraft Pilot Proficiency Program (BPPP) through web-based education, combined with the training of BPPP flight instructors individually scheduled near the pilot’s home.
BPPP Online+Flight is a significant addition to the ongoing live BPPP pilot training clinics, officials said.
“BPPP Online+Flight is perhaps the most significant member service ABS has ever offered,” says Keith Kohout, president of the American Bonanza Society.
Thomas P. Turner, executive director of the ABS Air Safety Foundation, adds: “By addressing the scheduling and cost issues that prevent a great many ABS members from attending our live BPPP training events, ABS makes the life-saving expertise of BPPP systems and flight instruction available to the majority of Beechcraft pilots. The program is priced to make it roughly comparable to local flight instruction, with the hope that Beech pilots will make expert, type-specific training the norm for initial checkout, Flight Reviews and other recurrent training.”
Cost of the program is $495. This includes the 13 online course modules and up to four hours of BPPP flight instruction.
You must be an ABS member to participate in BPPP Online+Flight. Log in to Bonanza.org and follow the ONLINE+FLIGHT link under the FLIGHT TRAINING/BPPP menu item for more information and to enroll. You may also enroll at BPPP.org from the COURSES link.
The American Bonanza Society represents more than 9,000 owners and operators of Beechcraft Bonanza, Debonair, Baron and Travel Air aircraft around the world, providing pilot and mechanic technical support, education, and social interaction for its members. With a professional staff headquartered in Wichita, ABS’ not-for-profit Air Safety Foundation and its flight training subsidiary Beechcraft Pilot Proficiency Program, Inc., create pilot and mechanic training products and services including supplemental maintenance guides, flight instruction syllabi, and live events like BPPP pilot training, the ABS Service Clinic aircraft inspection program, and the soon-to-be-introduced ABS Maintenance Academy for certificated mechanics.
