Icon Aircraft has named Ron Nussle, Jr., C.P.M. VP of Operations. Nussle served as Director of Strategic Supply Chain Management at Cessna Aircraft for three years and spent 12 years before that at Honeywell Aerospace where he held engineering, operations, and program management positions.
Nussle brings 26 years of operations, supply chain, and program management experience to Icon from the aerospace, high-tech, semiconductor, and solar-construction industries. Nussle’s background includes a wide range of company types, from early stage startups to multibillion-dollar, multinational publicly traded firms. He also founded ICR Group Ltd., an organization composed of operations executives specializing in supply chain consulting for American, European, and Chinese multinational corporations.
Nussle will be responsible for building and leading the organization that brings the A5 to volume production. A significant part of that effort will be building and assessing the supply chain, a process that is already underway with a systematic evaluation of Icon’s current composite suppliers.
Nussle graduated from Arizona State University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and has taught in Arizona State University’s MBA Program. In addition to being a hands-on operations executive, he has also written a book and over 30 articles on the topics of operations, supply chain management, and outsourcing.
