Piper wins submarine work

By Janice Wood · April 15, 2012 ·

Piper Aircraft Services – Manufacturing has received a contract for approximately $90,000 in machined parts from Triton Submarines, which is also based in Vero Beach, Fla. The contract calls for complex multi-axis machined parts destined for Triton’s submersibles, company officials said.

Piper President and CEO Simon Caldecott said, “We are very pleased that Triton Submarines chose Piper for this important manufacturing support work. Triton’s rigorous design goals and manufacturing standards are consistent with Piper’s precision manufacturing processes. This is a perfect example of the kind of work that Piper Aircraft Services can accomplish.”

Triton CEO L. Bruce Jones said, “As a fixed wing, helicopter and ultralight pilot, I know that Piper has an excellent reputation throughout the industry for manufacturing quality and safe products. This partnership seems like a natural fit in that both of our products are manufactured to high safety standards and are relied upon in harsh environments. We are looking forward to partnering on additional work beyond this first contract.”
