Sponsors are being sought for the Airventure Cup Race after the Experimental Aircraft Association cut its ties with the race.
Last month, race organizers decided to partner with the Sport Air Racing League (SARL) after learning EAA no longer wished to be associated with the race.
“We are extremely grateful to SARL for coming to the rescue and helping us continue the Airventure Cup Race in 2012 and for years to come,” said Kandi Spangler, spokesperson for the Airventure Cup Race. “Our staff and racers are looking forward to making 2012 one of the best races in our 14-year history.
The race will start in Mitchell, S.D. (MHE) and end in West Bend, Wis. (ETB) with several checkpoints in between totaling nearly 500 miles.
