SUN ’n FUN Fly-In weekend

This weekend, SUN ’n FUN officials are inviting all pilots to fly in for a full slate of aviation activities, camping and camaraderie. A highlight of the weekend will be a Pilot Town Hall Meeting with AOPA President Craig Fuller.

On Saturday, the Florida Air Museum, which is on the SUN ’n FUN campus at Lakeland-Linder Regional Airport (LAL) in Florida, will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The PilotMall.com store, also at LAL, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Grilled lunch will be provided.

From 4 – 5 p.m., there will be a presentation, “How to Get Your A&P License,” by Thomas Black, T Black Aviation, in the campground Corn Roast area.

From 6 – 8 p.m. a BBQ Dinner will be provided by Florida BBQ Company & Catering in the campground Corn Roast area. Meal includes: Chicken, pulled pork, corn on the cob, coleslaw, dessert and drinks

From 8 – 10 p.m. there will be a fireside chat at the new Fire Hub with SUN ‘n FUN President “Lites” Leenhouts and Fuller, hosted by the Recreational Aviation Foundation’s Tim Clifford.

Sunday will kick off at 8 a.m with a non-denominational church service held in the Corn Roast area, following at 9 a.m. by the AOPA Pilot Pancake Breakfast at the Sunset Grill. An RSVP is required for entry, so email [email protected] for a seat; include “SNF” in the subject line.

From 10 – 11 a.m. Fuller will host a Pilot Town Hall Meeting at the Sunset Grill. Immediately following the pancake breakfast, Fuller will host a pilot town hall meeting where he will share his perspective on the current state of general aviation and the importance of the 2012 elections.

The PilotMall.com shop and Florida Air Museum also will be open on Sunday.
