LoPresti shows off latest at Oshkosh

By Janice Wood · July 24, 2012 ·

OSHKOSH — LoPresti Aviation Engineering introduced five new performance products at this week’s AirVenture, including the IceSkate wheelpants for the Piper aircraft fleet.

“Over the last five years, our IceSkate design has become the performance standard for the Cirrus product line,” said LoPresti CEO Rj Siegel. “We’ve taken all we’ve learned from that design and incorporated the technology into our new Piper product. The pants are exceptionally low drag while providing additional lifting surface for the aircraft. The result is a new level of performance for our wheelpants. We’re seeing 6 knots better than stock on a Piper Warrior and 9 knots on a Cherokee six. We’ve incorporated our patented AIrDoor for excellent tire access and an exhaust vent for improved cooling and eliminating brake dust.”

The new kit, consisting of all three wheelpants and hardware, carries a retail price of $5,795. LoPresti is running an introductory special at Oshkosh for the first 10 sets for $4,195.
