Making its debut at AirVenture was OxyFly, an oxygen generating system that has been used by European pilots for the past year.
Produced by German firm Durr Technik, the OxyFly is a self-contained oxygen generating system that needs only a 28VDC electrical supply to operate. The system is available in two configurations — one with handles and another lighter, more compact model.
When in use, the system’s custom designed oil-less compressor pumps out oxygen with up to 95% concentration, according to company officials. The system is capable of supply constant oxygen flow to as many as six people.
