Political couple return to NBAA

By Janice Wood · August 9, 2012 ·

Renowned political couple James Carville and Mary Matalin will be featured speakers at the National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA’s) 65th Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2012) on Oct. 31 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

“The timing is perfect to welcome back James and Mary as speakers at NBAA2012,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “It will be very interesting to hear their insights and predictions as political insiders, just one week prior to the presidential election.”

Carville and Matalin’s appearance, which will take place as part of the second day’s Opening Session at this year’s convention, will mark their third time speaking at an NBAA Convention during an election year. The famed political couple – Carville is a Democratic consultant and Matalin is a Republican strategist – bring an insider’s view to analyzing and predicting the November election and will discuss the players and policies that influence the outcome, NBAA officials said.

Carville and Matalin are key players in the national political arena, each with more than 30 years in politics. Carville, an author, actor, producer, talk-show host, business aviation enthusiast and campaign manager for former President Bill Clinton, is one of America’s best-known Democratic consultants. Matalin, a well-known conservative voice, served as campaign manager for former President George Bush in 1992 and as a counselor to former Vice President Dick Cheney.

NBAA2012 will be held from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1. The convention will feature exhibits covering a million square feet of floor space at the Orange County Convention Center, an on-site outdoor light business airplane static display adjacent to the convention center, and a static display of aircraft on Orlando Executive Airport. NBAA2012 will feature more than 100 education sessions.

Founded in 1947 and based in Washington, DC, the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is the leading organization for companies that rely on general aviation aircraft to help make their businesses more efficient, productive and successful. The association represents more than 9,000 companies and provides more than 100 products and services to the business aviation community, including the NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention, the world’s largest civil aviation trade show.
