Hillsboro Aviation has added Giancarlo Newsome to its senior management team as director of sales and services overseeing Hillsboro Aviation’s airplane and helicopter sales, customer maintenance, avionics, parts sales and FBO service departments.

He brings a variety of aviation and business experience to Hillsboro Aviation, according to company officials. He joined the military reserves at the age of 17 to become a Cobra crew chief. He completed his military career commanding a UH60 Blackhawk unit. After college, he sold helicopters for Bell Helicopter. Leveraging his international background, Giancarlo led a variety of international as well as domestic sales campaigns for Bell.

He holds a marketing degree from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the University of Dallas. He is a commercial, instrument-rated helicopter pilot with experience flying the Bell JetRanger, Bell AH-1 Cobra and Sikorsky UH60 Blackhawk. Giancarlo speaks multiple languages, including English, Italian and Portuguese.

Headquartered in Hillsboro, Oregon, Hillsboro Aviation is an FAA Repair Station and a factory-authorized service center for Bell and Robinson helicopters, Cessna single-engine airplanes and Cessna Caravan. Additionally, the company offers avionics sales and custom installations as well as parts sales and flight training.
