Free Aviation Career Conference propels aviation careers

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. — An exploration of career possibilities available in aviation will take place during the annual Aviation Career Conference, held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Lewis University’s main campus in Romeoville. This free conference is designed for anyone interested in a career in aviation.

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to witness an American Eagle ERJ-145 land at the university and immediately talk with the crew led by American Eagle Captain Kyoko Kimura.

Lewis University, American Airlines, United Airlines, American Eagle Airline, Boeing International, Chicago Dept. of Aviation, Federal Aviation Administration, Chicago Air Traffic Control, Federal Express Airlines and Southwest Airlines are hosting this opportunity to learn first-hand from “real world” aviation professionals. Informational sessions include various careers of interest, such as airport management, FAA administration, U.S. Marshall, U.S. Customs border patrol, aviation mechanic, tower air traffic control, radar air traffic control, aviation dispatch, commercial airline pilot, corporate pilot, logistics and transportation.

Lewis University provides aviation career opportunities in flight management, administration, maintenance, security and air traffic control. Lewis is one of 31 institutions in the country certified by the FAA to offer the Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative Program.
