SUN ’n FUN CAMPUS, LAKELAND, Florida — SUN ’n FUN has named Lori Bradner Executive Director of Education, charged with leading the transition of the Florida Air Museum “as it becomes a world class, aviation-based, interactive educational experience,” officials said.
The new “Aerospace Science Center” will use aviation values and traditions to help students of all ages become engaged in the theories of flight and be introduced to the impact general aviation has not only on the Florida economy, but the world economy, SUN ’n FUN officials added.
Bradnew was recently honored as the Air Force Association’s Aerospace Teacher of the Year. In 2011, she was named Kathleen High School’s Teacher of the Year.
As a SUN ’n FUN volunteer and Science Instructor at the Central Florida Aerospace Academy (CFAA), Bradner became the local Civil Air Patrol Squadron Commander and was on the ground floor of the development of the Lakeland Aero Club. She has incorporated NASA programs into her classrooms for two years, and has recently finalized arrangements to become not only a pilot, but a CFI.
She holds a Masters of Education Administration degree from Purdue University and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University. More recently Lori received National Certification in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Education through NASA Endeavor at Columbia University and NASA.
