When Pigs Fly South to SUN ’n FUN

By Janice Wood · November 29, 2012 ·

SUN ’n FUN CAMPUS, LAKELAND, Fla. — The grounds at SUN ‘n FUN will look very different “When Pigs Fly South” on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Classic cars, show motorcycles and vintage aircraft will surround more than 20 BBQ Masters as they compete for awards in three competitive classes.

Trophies will be given for “Anything But…” (desserts, fish, salads, etc.), “Best Ribs” and “Best Chicken” after formal judging. There is no fee for car, motorcycle and airplane owners to enter their favorite vehicle into the competition. Help select the most popular vehicle by purchasing “peoples’ choice tickets (online or onsite).

Throughout the day, music will be provided by the Channel Z Band. Visit the Florida Air Museum Science Center on Saturday with no admission fee. The Central Florida Indoor FreeFlight Club will introduce to all ages the construction and flight of non-motorized aircraft in Hangar A. A lucky member of a motorcycle, club, car club or aviation club or chapter having the largest number of attendees will win two weeklong passes for the 39th Annual SUN ’n FUN International Fly-In & Expo (April 9-14, 2013.)
