Flying Musicians at Sebring LSA Expo

By Janice Wood · January 9, 2013 ·

The Flying Musicians Association is gearing up for the first aviation event of 2012, the Sebring U.S. Sport Aviation Expo, held in Sebring, Fla., Jan. 17-20.

FMA performers will entertain on stage in the Food Court daily, Thursday through Sunday. (See the schedule at FlyingMusicians.org.) John Zapp, co-founder of FMA, said, “Being invited back to the first aviation event of the year is exciting. It’s a chance to renew friendships, meet new flying musicians, and enjoy aviation and music. Plus, it’s in Florida, and it’s January!”

The Flying Musicians have created an atmosphere where music and aviation enthusiasts converge to share their passions. Association members encourage all pilots to bring their instruments to join in in informal jam sessions during the show.

Mike Golas is performer coordinator, if you would like to perform at this event or future events.

The Flying Musicians Association took off in 2009 by blending two passions: flying and music. The mission of the organization: “Pilot Musicians sharing their passion while encouraging and educating youth and adults in the science and art of aeronautics and music.” College chapters have begun to take flight around the country, officials note.
