Sporty’s introduces Pilot Backpack

By Janice Wood · January 15, 2013 ·

Sporty’s has introduced its Cross Country Backpack for pilots who prefer a backpack as a flight bag.

Specific pockets organize headsets, iPad, flashlight, fuel tester, handheld radio and more. The padded headset pocket has built-in battery holders, while an internal iPad sleeve keeps iPads protected. A padded laptop compartment fits most 17-inch computers, and there is a special pocket on the shoulder strap for cellphones.

BackpacklThe transceiver pocket features a patented split flap at the top to allow the antenna to stick up, Sporty’s officials note. Inside, a custom sleeve will store the antenna when not on your radio. A removable custom ID holder is affixed to the bag.

A rubberized bottom means that you can place the Cross Country Backpack on a damp surface with no fear of damaging the contents.

Constructed with heavy-duty nylon, the backpack is backed by a six-year guarantee. It also can be personalized with three embroidered initials.

Price: $64.95.
