AAR recruiting A&Ps

By Janice Wood · January 20, 2013 ·

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL — AAR has job openings for 70 aircraft mechanics at its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) station in Duluth, Minn., and is expanding recruitment to the Twin Cities with a job fair on Jan. 23.

From 1 to 7 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel Bloomington by Mall of America, AAR recruiters will be accepting applications. AAR has created more than 100 jobs since opening the Duluth MRO in November. At capacity, the facility could create up to 225 jobs.

“We’re taking a deeper dive across the state to find people with the requisite skills and aptitude to fill these highly skilled positions,” said Dany Kleiman, AAR’s Aviation Services Group Vice President – Repair and Engineering. “Careers in aviation are critical to supporting our regional, national and global economy, as well as air travel in the U.S. and abroad.”

This month, AAR launched an aggressive recruitment campaign nationwide to staff its five aircraft repair stations that comprise its 1MRO service delivery network. The company is particularly interested in hiring military veterans, which make up 20% of its workforce, officials noted.
