The WACO Aircraft Company has launched a Great Lakes Paint Scheme Contest.
“With the Great Lakes 2T-1A-1 project coming along quickly, we are looking for a great new paint scheme to use on our first airplane,” officials said in a prepared release.

Submissions will be taken until Feb. 17, 2013. The top 5 entries (as chosen by WACO Aircraft) will be put to a public vote to decide the winner. There is no limit on the number of entries you can submit.
Prizes include:
- A demo ride in the very first Great Lakes biplane
- Your name on the plane.
- A personalized commemorative award.
- A WACO goodie bag.
- Special invitation as a VIP guest at the public debut launch event for the Great Lakes.
