The Florida Sonex Association will hold its first Spring Sonex Fest fly-in on Saturday, April 13, at Zephyrhills Municipal Airport in Zephyrhills, Fla.
The event, which will be held from 10 am to 5 pm, is “a great opportunity for SUN ’n FUN attendees interested in Sonex Aircraft to experience a grassroots Sonex builder event, as the Zephyrhills airport is only a 35 minute drive from the SUN ’n FUN grounds on Lakeland-Linder Regional Airport (LAL), officials said.
Fly-in or transient traffic is also welcome, however, event organizers and airport management ask that all attendees driving or flying-in RSVP for the event at the Florida Sonex Association website to ensure adequate food, refreshments, shade and aircraft parking are available.
Sonex Aircraft will also be hosting forums at SUN ’n FUN on Thursday, April 11, and Friday, April 12. A full schedule of events can be found on the Sonex Company Events Calendar. (Note: Sonex will not have an exhibitor booth space at this year’s SUN ’n FUN, which runs from April 9-14.)
“This is the first time the Florida Sonex Association will have a ‘Member Pilot Home Airport’ event, an event where one of our member pilots host at their home field,” writes FSA leader Mike January. “We are hoping that we will be able to increase the amount of member-based events in Florida to include fly-out breakfasts to other locations in the coming years. Our main event remains our annual fly-in at Dunnellon, Florida.”
