Schweiss adds movable interior gate to line-up

By Ben Sclair · May 8, 2013 ·

FAIRFAX, Minn. – Mike Schweiss, owner of Schweiss Doors, prides himself on never saying no. So when Tom Yenish, the owner of “The Paw,” an upscale dog and cat resort, asked about a movable interior wall, Schweiss created the new Moving Gate. Designed to divide a 96-foot long room, the 46-foot wide door moves up or down, in less than a minute.

The Paw, an exclusive dog and cat resort in Minnesota, had Schweiss Doors install a 46 ft. liftstrap moving gate. The gate lifts to the ceiling when open and divides a 96 ft. room in half when down.

Schweiss Doors designed the gate to lift straight up to the high ceiling, up and out of the way when not in use. Five Schweiss Bifold liftstraps and a 2 h.p. top-mounted electric motor quietly lift the Schweiss Moving Gate.

This particular gate allows humans and animals to see across to the other side of the room without having to raise the Schweiss gate. However, the gates can be designed to fit any need. Learn more about Schweiss Doors at 800-746-8273.

    Thanks Ben,
Looks great. Miss the aviation beat. I used to be editor of Alaska Flying magazine out of Anchorage. Publication is no longer going.
