EAA Chapter 1343 and GTO Aviation are hosting the second annual Steam Plant Fly-In and Expo Saturday June 22 at Sumner County Regional Airport (M33) in Tennessee.
This all-day event will feature food, live music, displays, vendors, educational sessions and lots of airplanes, according to organizers, who noted they have invited all EAA chapters in Tennessee to attend, as well as chapters in bordering states.
Gates open at 9 am. Starting at 11 am, lunch will be available from the fine cooks at EAA Chapter 863. Hamburgers, hotdogs and all the fixings! We’ll have live music by up-and-coming Country Duo Flyte Three and the classic rock sounds of the Von Skow Band.
Late morning and early afternoon will feature some educational sessions and our vendors will be open all day. Several manufacturers representing both Part 23 and LSA category aircraft, as well as avionics, aircraft finishing, and more will also be at the event.
In addition there will be information on learning to fly and representatives from EAA and AOPA on hand to answer member questions or sign up new members. Planes will be around all day, with a mix of warbirds, trikes, experimental and certificated models.
Admission is free, as is vehicle and aircraft parking. GTO Aviation will offer a fuel discount to all pilots flying in. A group dinner will be held Friday night for early arrivals and volunteers.
Sumner County Regional is located just northeast of Nashville.
